Community Traffic Safety Team
The Monroe County Community Traffic Safety Team (CTST) is comprised of traffic safety advocates and professionals who are committed to solving traffic safety problems through a comprehensive and multi-disciplinary approach. This committee analyzes and addresses areas of concern, as well as mitigates and aims to prevent future traffic safety problems. CTST members include local, state, and federal government partners, as well as non-governmental organizations such as faith-based organizations (FBO), community-based organizations (CBO), non-profit organizations (NPO), public-benefit corporations (i.e., public transportation), hospitals, and other interested stakeholders. It is the CTST's commitment to work together using the four E’s (Education, Engineering, Evaluation, Enforcement/Emergency Services) to achieve safer roads and travel modes for the whole community. While the makeup of the CTST will differ based on specific incident-specific variables, three Monroe County departments will be active in all case studies; Department of Public Safety (DPS), Department of Planning and Development (Planning), and the Department of Transportation (MCDOT).
