Scrap metal is accepted at ecopark during regular operating hours. Fluids must be removed from powered equipment beforehand. Fluids can be disposed via ecopark Hazardous Household Waste collections. HHW Appointment Required. Click here for more info.

Local metal scrap yards and recycling facilities will also accept scrap metal and may even pay you for the materials. Check each site's scrap metal policy by visiting the links below.
Miscellaneous Materials/Items
Bare Tire Rims
Bare tire rims can be disposed of as scrap metal. See below for more information or click here for general automotive tire recycling information
Wire Coat Hangers
Wire coat hangers are accepted at ecopark and other scrap metal collection sites. See below for more information.
Secondhand stores that sell clothing, such as Goodwill, the Salvation Army, and Volunteers of America will also reuse wire hangers in good information. Click here for a list of local thrift/donation stores
Some dry cleaners will accept coat hangers in good condition for reuse.
Fishing Weights
Lead fishing weights are accepted as scrap metal at ecopark or any other scrap metal facility.
Lawn Signs
Disassemble signs:
- Metal stakes are acceptable in the scrap metal bin at ecopark
- Wood stakes should be placed in the trash
Signs made entirely of paper (NO PLASTIC COATING) can be placed in your curbside recycling bin.
Signs made of cardboard WITH A WAX COATING MUST BE PLACED IN THE TRASH.
Signs made of plastic that stretches when you put your finger through it can be recycled with plastic bags and film at retailers or ecopark.
