Monroe County, in partnership with Genesee Transportation Council, completed its first Countywide Active Transportation Plan (CATP) in 2023.
Monroe County DOT (MCDOT) has a Complete Streets Policy, last revised in July 2023, to promote a comprehensive, integrated, and connected multi-modal transportation network in Monroe County through the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation of County roads. This policy is promulgated pursuant to New York State’s Complete Streets Act (Highway Law § 331) and Monroe County’s CATP dated August 2023.
Monroe County, in partnership with Genesee Transportation Council, is currently working on a Countywide Active Transportation Implementation Plan (CATIP), anticipated to be completed by early 2026, to identify feasible and desirable facilities to accommodate vulnerable road users on the roadways that have been identified by the CATP as part of the County's active transportation network.
