Monroe County Executive Adam Bello today announced the renaming of the roadway leading to the Durand-Eastman Golf Course as Jim Carlucci Drive. Jim was an avid golfer at Monroe County-owned golf courses and won club championships at all three. He passed away on May 2, 2024 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

“In 2023, I had the opportunity to recognize Jim by declaring the opening day of golf at Monroe County Golf Courses as ‘Jim Carlucci Day.’ It was clear to me then that he was not only passionate about the game of golf, but also about the community of golfers who care for and support each other,” said County Executive Bello. “It’s an honor to be able to commemorate Jim’s love of the game with this street naming.”

“The naming of this street after Jim has great significance. It is the road that brought him to his favorite place, where he felt most at peace among the fairways and the greens,” said Andrea Carlucci, Jim’s wife. “The permanent nature of this street naming to me is a reminder of Jim's love of Durand and the people he called friends. I'm overcome with emotion at the special honor you have bestowed on my husband. I know he is missed beyond measure, and he would be humbled at this overwhelming tribute of love and honor.”

Jim Carlucci won championships at Durand-Eastman in 2007, 2011, 2019, 2020, and 2021, the last three while battling cancer. He won the 2012 championship at Genesee Valley and the 2018 Championship at Churchville. He is the only person to have won championships at all three courses. Jim was also a long-time member of the Durand Eastman Men’s Club. Memorial signage will now be displayed commemorating Jim Carlucci Drive.
