Breeze will serve four new destinations including non-stop flights to Raleigh, N.C and Charleston, S.C.
Monroe County Executive Adam Bello today announced that Breeze Airways will begin service from the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) this spring. The newest airline in the ROC portfolio, Breeze will begin service to four destinations twice a week with nonstop flights to Charleston, SC (CHS) and to Raleigh, NC (RDU) beginning in May, 2025. The new routes will also include the company’s BreezeThru service, allowing passengers to stay on the same plane and continue to New Orleans (MSY) or Orlando (MCO).
“We’re thrilled to welcome Breeze Airways to the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport,” said County Executive Bello. “These new routes will provide Rochester passengers with greater travel opportunities, connecting our community with sought-after destinations. Whether you want to explore Charleston’s coastline or Raleigh’s vibrant music venues— Breeze’s inexpensive, non-stop flights make it simple, and the BreezeThru service adds extra value. With state-of-the-art parking, easy access, and great amenities, ROC makes getting away convenient and affordable.”
Breeze Airways, led by former JetBlue founder David Neeleman, has rapidly expanded its network by focusing on underserved markets and offering nonstop flights that make travel easier and more accessible for passengers. The airline features a modern fleet and customer- friendly service, making it a popular option among travelers looking for a high-quality and affordable experience. Expanding the company’s route system to Rochester is a testament to ROC’s growing reputation as a top ten small airport.
“We continue to see strong demand for our unique service between the Northeast and the Mid-Atlantic region, making Rochester a great fit for our network,” said David Neeleman, Breeze Airways’ founder and CEO. “We’re excited to expand our service to more travelers in upstate New York and look forward to welcoming new Guests from the area in the coming months when service begins.”
Beginning today, Rochester travelers can book flights on Breeze to:
-
Charleston, S.C. (Thursdays and Sundays, starting May 8, from $59* one way);
-
Raleigh-Durham, N.C. (Mondays and Fridays, starting May 9, from $49* one way);
-
New Orleans (One stop/no change of plane BreezeThru service, Thursdays and Sundays, starting May 8); and
-
Orlando, Fla. (One stop/no change of plane BreezeThru service, Mondays and Fridays, starting May 9).
“Flying local, Flying ROC is more important than ever,” said ROC Airport Director Andy Moore. “The more passengers fly from home, the more the airlines take notice and increase the non-stop routes from ROC.”
Passengers can begin booking flights today online at www.flybreeze.com. Strong passenger usage of these nonstop flights demonstrates that our community can support additional nonstop service to other destinations in Breeze’s service map in the future.
