Monroe County Executive Adam Bello is encouraging residents to show their support for Frederick Douglass-Greater Rochester International Airport as it competes in the USA Today 2023 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for the title of "Best Small Airport."
“With the passion and determination that this community is known for, we have the opportunity to showcase our exceptional airport on a national stage,” said County Executive Bello. “ROC, with its convenience and outstanding customer service, represents the spirit of our community – resilient, innovative and committed to excellence. Let's come together and make sure the rest of the nation recognizes what we already know: Frederick Douglass-Greater Rochester International Airport is among the best small airports in the United States."
The Frederick Douglass-Greater Rochester International Airport is a vital gateway to our region, connecting us to destinations near and far. It provides top-tier service to travelers and contributes significantly to our local economy. In 2021, ROC was renamed after prominent abolitionist and Rochesterian Frederick Douglass. The airport continues to invest in the legacy of Frederick Douglass by creating accessible historical and educational content for visitors and residents to learn from and engage with.
According to USA Today, 10Best rankings highlight the best of the best in contests covering categories such as destinations, food and drink, hotels and things to do. Nominees in all categories are submitted by a panel of experts, with the final set of nominees selected by 10Best editors before being presented to the public.
