After an overwhelming response by Monroe County residents, Turkish Society of Rochester pauses donation collection.
Monroe County Executive Adam Bello today thanked residents for their donations to the earthquake relief drive to benefit those affected by the recent devastating earthquake in Türkiye
and Syria. Due to the outpouring of support and generosity of county residents, the Turkish Society of Rochester is pausing the collection of any further donations from Monroe County.
“Time and time again, our residents answer the call to help and showcase the best of Monroe County,” said County Executive Bello. “I thank our community for once again rising to the occasion to help the victims of this devastating earthquake.”
“We are deeply moved by the generosity of Monroe County residents,” said Nihat Selcuk, President of the Turkish Society of Rochester. “We extend our deep gratitude to County Executive Bello for rallying our community together to provide aid and support for our families and friends at home in Türkiye.”
“I join the County Executive in thanking our community for their generous spirit in donating to the victims of the devastating earthquake earlier this month,” said County Clerk Jamie Romeo. “Our DMV locations took in truckloads of needed items that will provide relief to so many.”
