Monroe County Executive Adam Bello today announced the return of the popular family event Winterfest on Saturday, January 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mendon Ponds Park. The event is free with activities for people of all ages.
“Winter is now in full swing and Winterfest 2024 is a great reason for residents to visit Mendon Ponds Park for a day of family fun. Join us to experience the beauty of winter in our largest county park,” said County Executive Bello. “I encourage everyone to mark their calendars for a day of fun, food, games, education and performances.”
Winterfest activities are spread throughout Mendon Ponds Park including the Stewart Lodge, the Nature Center, East and West Lodges, Evergreen Shelter, Hopkins Point Lodge, trails and sledding hills.
Activities include:

Mercy Flight Helicopter demonstration at 1 p.m. near Stewart Lodge (weather dependent)

Hay rides (11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at West Lodge)

Animal education from Seneca Park Zoo and Wild Wings

Demonstrations and “try-it” opportunities at many booths/stations

Mendon Ponds Park is the largest of Monroe County’s 22 parks, with 2,500 acres of woodlands, ponds, wetlands and glacially created landforms. With its geologic history and presence of significant kames, eskers and kettles, the park is listed on the National Registry of Natural Landmarks. Park offices are located at 95 Douglas Road, Honeoye Falls.
