Senior Office Account Clerk
Description of Duties
This is a senior-level clerical position involving the independent performance of difficult and complex clerical and account keeping tasks for a department or agency. The work may involve use of an automated or manual account keeping system. This employee may also be responsible for planning and review of account keeping and financial record keeping activities of other clerical staff or of a small clerical unit. The use of a personal computer for word processing and database entry is an integral part of the position. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a higher level staff member. General supervision may be exercised over Office Account Clerks and other subordinate staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Churchville-Chili and Penfield Central School Districts, Town of Greece and Monroe Community College:
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class at one of the agencies above and must have served continuously for twelve (12) months holding the position of Office Clerk II or Office Clerk III immediately preceding the date of the written test. Provisional time served immediately before a permanent appointment to the same title(s) will be credited.
Town of Irondequoit:
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class at the Town of Irondequoit and must have served continuously for twelve (12) months holding the position of Office Account Clerk immediately preceding the date of the written test. Provisional time served immediately before a permanent appointment to the same title(s) will be credited.
Rochester City School District:
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class at the Rochester City School District and must have served continuously for twelve (12) months holding the position of Office Clerk II or Clerk I immediately preceding the date of the written test. Provisional time served immediately before a permanent appointment to the same title(s) will be credited.
A combination of time served in multiple titles sufficient to meet the maximum period of required service is also qualifying.
