Wound Care Nurse, prov.
Description of Duties
This is a professional nursing position located at Monroe Community Hospital responsible for providing comprehensive wound assessments and plan of care assistance to include the implementation of treatment, evaluation and outcomes for patients with altered skin integrity (pressure necrosis, wounds, fistulas, etc.). Duties include providing patient, family, and staff education regarding wound management, prevention of pressure ulcers, dressing selections and other therapies. A wide latitude is allowed for independent judgment and decision making. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER;
(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in a registered nurse position, one (1) year of which must include a focus on wound care; OR
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree in Nursing plus three (3) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as described in (A) above, one (1) year of which must include a focus on wound care.
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
