Process Server
Description of Duties
This position is responsible for personally serving subpoenas, summonses and other essential legal documents by visiting respondents' residences and places of employment throughout Monroe County. Duties include conducting research and interviewing various individuals in order to locate respondents. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a Law Department Investigator or other higher-level staff member.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements on or before the date of the written exam:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus one (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent* experience as a peace or police officer, performing investigative work such as private investigation and insurance investigation, or serving summonses and subpoenas.
