Sustainability Coordinator, prov.
Description of Duties
This is a professional position responsible for directing a Sustainability Program, designed to develop and implement climate programs, such as the Monroe County Climate Action Plan and the Monroe County Climate Adaptation and Resiliency Plan. This position will ensure compliance with the New York State Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA). The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the Deputy Director of Environmental Services or other higher-level staff member. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
PROPOSED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER:
(A) Graduation with a Bachelor's degree in Sustainable/Civil/Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Urban Planning, Public Administration or a closely related field plus five (5) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in climate change, sustainability, environmental management, environmental planning or environmental engineering; OR,
(B) Graduation with an Associate's degree in Sustainable/Civil/Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Urban Planning, Public Administration or a closely related field plus seven (7) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in climate change, sustainability, environmental management, environmental planning or environmental engineering; OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
