Southwest Airlines will provide the first nonstop ROC to LAS since 2008, Greater Connectivity to the West Coast
Monroe County Executive Adam Bello and the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport today announce new nonstop service to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas, NV on Southwest Airlines (WN). This is ROC’s first nonstop air service to LAS since 2008. Flights on Southwest’s 175 seat 737-8 begin October 3, 2024 and will be offered four times per week to start.
“The Entertainment Capital of the World, America’s Playground, Sin City – however you refer to it, we are thrilled for this new nonstop service to Las Vegas on Southwest Airlines. This has been a goal of the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport for several years, and will provide greater convenience for our residents who enjoy all that Las Vegas has to offer,” said Monroe County Executive Adam Bello. “The addition of nonstop flights to Las Vegas speaks to the strength of the ROC Airport and the Rochester economy. We are grateful for Southwest’s continued growth and investment in the Rochester market, and want to encourage travelers to consider all of the nonstop service the ROC Airport has to offer.
Las Vegas is the second-largest unserved destination out of Rochester. Additionally, Rochester is the largest unserved domestic market for Las Vegas. The four times per week service will add over 700 seats weekly from Rochester to Las Vegas. Southwest Airlines also operates nonstop service to Baltimore, MD (BWI), Orlando, FL (MCO) and Tampa, FL (TPA) out of ROC.

With around 270 daily flights to 66 destinations, Southwest Airlines is the largest air service carrier operating out of LAS. Nonstop service to Las Vegas will also bring improved connectivity to other high demand western destinations like Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, San Diego, and Seattle.
Passengers can book flights for the October and November schedule today online at www.southwest.com. Flights for dates in December and January will be on sale over the next few days. Dates, times and prices of flights may vary, including Saturdays for November, December and January.
