Emergency Management Program Specialist, prov.
Description of Duties
This is a professional management position responsible for understanding and managing all the phases of the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) grants process lifecycle. The employee will assist other OEM staff in writing local emergency response plans as well as OEM staff and stakeholders in the implementation of the emergency response plans. The employee is also expected to respond, at any time, to emergencies in the field or to the Emergency Operations Center. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of an administrator with wide leeway allowed for decision making and independent judgement. Supervision is not a responsibility of this class. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
- Graduation with a Master’s degree and two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience with responsibility for emergency and/or public safety program planning, implementation, writing and review OR the planning, development and direction of grant programs which involved writing and identifying funding opportunities; OR,
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience with responsibility for emergency and/or public safety program planning, writing, implementation and OR the planning, development and direction of grant programs which involved writing and identifying funding opportunities; OR,
- An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
