Assistant Director of Operations - Human Services, prov.
Description of Duties
This is a professional level position in the Department of Human Services responsible for assisting the Director of Operations – Human Services. Work involves assisting with overseeing and providing direction of operational activities, such as special social services projects, security, health and safety, inventory, building space, etc. This position is responsible for coordinating quality improvement activities in the department and overseeing the process of investigations of fraud or misconduct. General supervision is exercised over a subordinate staff. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of the Director of Operations – Human Services. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
PROPOSED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
(A) Graduation with a Master’s degree plus one (1) year paid full time or its part time equivalent experience in human services**, social casework, or social welfare; OR,
(B) Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years paid full time or its part time equivalent experience as defined by the limits of (A) above; OR,
(C) Graduation with an Associate’s degree plus five (5) years paid full time or its part time equivalent experience as defined by the limits of (A) above; OR,
(D) Seven (7) years paid full time or its part time equivalent experience as defined by the limits of (A) above; OR,
(E) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), (C), and (D) above.
**Human services setting is defined as an organization whose function is to provide assistance to individuals in need. Human service agencies are involved in the delivery of social, economic, or emotional support services to people in our society who are having difficulty coping with the pressure or strains of life and/or to enhance the quality of life. Experience must involve direct contact with clients in need of services and requires judgment on the part of the individual in dealing with and responding to the client.
