Senior Real Estate Paralegal

Description of Duties
This is a senior paraprofessional position in the Monroe County Law Department responsible for independently conducting difficult and complex legal research and related duties concerning various real estate transactions. The employee provides liaison with other County departments, banks, owners, agencies, and other parties of interest. Direct and independent responsibility is assumed for assigned legal matters. Direct supervision is exercised over a subordinate staff. The employee reports directly to and works under general supervision of a Deputy County Attorney. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus,
(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree plus four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in real estate paralegal work, one (1) year of which must have included title examination and/or title abstracting; OR,
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree and completion of a regionally accredited paralegal training and instructional program and possession of a certificate of completion, plus three (3) years of experience as defined in (A), one (1) year of which must have included title examination and/or title abstracting; OR,
(C) Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
