Description of Duties
This is a paraprofessional position responsible for assisting Assistant District Attorneys by reviewing cases, including procuring court documents, filing, preliminary case preparation and notation of recommendations and legal action. Work may also include overseeing the day-to-day operations of a program or function of the office. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of an administrative staff member. An Assistant District Attorney may provide direction on individual cases.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements on or before the date of the written exam:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma; PLUS,
- Graduation with a Bachelor's degree; OR,
- Graduation with an Associate’s degree plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent* experience in paralegal or legal assistant work; OR,
- Possession of a certificate of completion in Paralegal Studies, or closely-related field; OR,
- An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.
Note: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.
