The following pilots were selected from last year's MC-CII Prototyping Summit, where community members, service providers, and DHS staff came together to reimagine how DHS serves our community.
Fresh Access: SNAP Support at Local Curbside Markets
This summer the Department of Human Services (DHS) and Foodlink are teaming up to bring Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) support to Curbside Markets! Visit one of the mobile market’s stops for fresh, low-cost food and on-the-spot help from Foodlink and DHS staff with any of your SNAP questions.
DHS Connects: Partnering with Organizations to Bring DHS to You
This summer, staff from the Department of Human Services will be visiting four local organizations to help with public benefits applications, interviews, and case status information. We're coming to your area to make it easier for you to connect with DHS and get the information you need about public benefits. Thanks to our partnership with these organizations, getting in-person help has never been simpler.

CBO Benefits Training Program
Community-based organizations (CBOs) are often the first places people turn in times of need. To make sure that community members understand what may be available to them, Monroe County DHS is starting a new program to train CBO staff on how to support the DHS benefits screening and application process. By training CBO staff on how to use the MyBenefits.ny.gov website and providing detailed information on eligibility requirements for public benefit programs, community members will have more ways to get information and apply for programs like SNAP, HEAP, and more.
