Vape Pens & Electronic Cigarettes

Vape pens and electronic cigarettes are products used to deliver e-liquids, e.g. nicotine, cannabis and flavorings. Both the products and e-liquids are considered hazardous wastes and are prohibited from being disposed of in the trash. The Monroe County/Waste Management ecopark can now accept and properly dispose of products and e-liquids. These items can be dropped off at the Household Hazardous Waste area at the ecopark and no appointment is required.

Schools, universities, businesses, retailers and other organizations that have e-cigarettes and vaping devices for disposal should utilize the Monroe County / Waste Management ecopark's Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator Program (CESQG) - Click here for details.

Recycling is an international commodities market, where the supply and demand for recycled feedstock can fluctuate due to global dynamics. During certain market conditions, material from recyclers - like the ecopark - may be rejected and landfilled because of the presence of contaminants (non-recyclable materials). Please help us ensure that materials at the ecopark are recycled by only including acceptable items.
