Utility Stakeout Technician - Water Authority

Description of Duties
This position is responsible for stakeout activities as they relate to water lines. Assignments are prioritized according to requirements by utility companies and contractors who are preparing to dig on a site. Maps, film cards, calculations, profiles, and computer access are used to determine the location of water lines. Work is performed out-of-doors in all types of weather. Incumbent may be called out at any time for emergency stakeout outside normal working hours. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of a higher level staff member.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the non-competitive class at the Monroe County Water Authority and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twenty-four (24) months holding the position of Maintenance Mechanic II, Maintenance Mechanic III or Utility Worker immediately preceding the date of the written test.
A combination of time served in multiple titles sufficient to meet the maximum period of required service is also qualifying.
